GRANTS 101 ARCHIVES
This series will feature twelve virtual training sessions that cover grant-seeking basics as well as content for more experienced grant writers, leadership teams, and elected officials. See the full list of topics below.
These live webinars will be presented at no cost to attendees and archived on this page along with all slides, workbooks, templates, checklists, and other resources, providing an evergreen library for city officials seeking to learn about this process.
Content will be ideal for mayors, council members, city managers, city clerks, finance directors, regional commission staff, or any city official who may be tasked with preparing grant proposals or managing grant funds.
Background
Legislation approved in Congress over the past few years has resulted in an influx of trillions of dollars in federal and state funds for infrastructure, workforce development, housing, and clean energy. This unprecedented level of funding brings important opportunities to communities across the country and the State of Georgia. Robust federal support for grant programs will allow cities to make generational investments in capital and human infrastructure. At the same time, many of Georgia’s small cities may not have the staff capacity to position themselves to compete for these grant funds and many of our members have expressed a need for help so they will not be left out. GMA believes that every city that wants to compete for grant funds deserves a chance.
Session Topics and Dates
Sessions will be twice a month, on a Tuesday from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm ET. They will be delivered through Zoom. If you haven't already, sign up for a Zoom account today.

Partnership
Georgia’s Regional Commissions serve as the first line of technical assistance for many cities when it comes to grant writing and administration, and RC’s will be poised to help connect city officials to the resources they need for grant writing assistance. At GMA, we strongly believe that our partnerships make us stronger and better positioned to help our members. We are thrilled to work in partnership with GARC to co-brand this training series.
