Under SB 478, any person not prohibited by law from possessing a handgun or long gun may carry, without a valid weapons license, and such person would be allowed to possess a firearm in all parks, all publicly owned buildings located in parks, and on public transportation.

Under the bill, it would be unlawful for a person to carry, possess or have control of a long gun in a government building, with the exception that long guns may be used as exhibits in a legal proceeding.
