2020 Census Jobs

February 25, 2020

U.S. Census Bureau

The U.S. Census Bureau is still recruiting thousands of people across the country to assist with the 2020 Census count. Anyone interested in learning more about these employment opportunities can visit the federal 2020 Census Jobs website, view Georgia Employment Opportunities, call 1-800-424-6974 (ext. 53959), or email atlanta.rcc.recruiting@census.gov

The agency is hiring for a variety of temporary jobs, including census takers, recruiting assistants, office staff, and supervisory staff. Most 2020 Census positions will last several weeks and feature competitive wages, weekly paychecks, flexible hours, and paid training. To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Social Security number, and be a U.S. citizen (although non-citizens who are legally entitled to work in the U.S. may be hired in certain circumstances). Candidates are encouraged to access information on how to apply before completing an online job application. The application includes assessment questions regarding education, work, and other experience. Please consult the online FAQs and Job Details page for more details.

Positions for the 2020 Census are located throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. An interactive map allows applicants to find pay rates as well as local Census office locations in any county in Georgia. The minimum hourly wage is $15.

Local officials can also explore an interactive map featuring recruiting goals for the 2020 Census. If your community is located in a county with a low recruiting percentage, it is not too late to promote Census jobs in your area and to make sure that everyone counts.
