City Spotlight

Ellaville, located in GMA's District 8, was founded in 1857 as the county seat of the newly formed Schley County. Ellaville was named after the oldest daughter of one of the first settlers, Robert Burton. Ellaville represents the best of small-town Georgia living-where history meets hospitality, and community connections flourish in a setting that's both accessible and authentically Southern.

Fun Fact: The area was originally known as Pond Town, which functioned as a relay station for the stagecoach line that ran through Hamburg, Pond Town, and Preston in 1812.
