FY25 Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act Grants

Additional Information

Municipalities with significant populations of neotropical migratory birds or critical habitats for these species should consider applying for the NMBCA grant. Projects within urban areas, suburban regions, or rural communities that contribute to habitat conservation, restore migratory corridors, or enhance bird-friendly environments are particularly relevant. Additionally, municipalities that collaborate with local conservation organizations or stakeholders to address climate resilience and biodiversity are poised to have a strong grant proposals.

Organizations that have never applied to NMBCA before or have never received a NMBCA award are strongly encouraged to apply!

  1. Applicant organizations are eligible to receive a maximum of 2 awards. 
  2. There is no limit to the number of applications an organization can submit. 
  3. The maximum amount you may request per proposal is $250,000.

MATCH

Applicants must have a 2:1 cash match to be eligible for funding, this has been lowered from prior years. Matching contributions are allowable from January 1, 2022.  There is more information on what the NMBCA sescribes as "cash" in their application instructions.
