Welcome to Cities Connect, where we discuss issues that matter. In this episode, Marcus Thorne, Program Manager of ReCAST, discusses the work the city of Lawrenceville has undertaken to build a more resilient and inclusive city where all residents, including youth, can thrive. ReCAST stands for Resiliency in Communities After Stress and Trauma, a grant program that Lawrenceville was selected for in 2021. Since then, the city has stood up an advisory board consisting of members across the community to guide the work of meeting five overarching goals. These address the social determinants of health and seek to foster greater community engagement and wellbeing. Marcus will talk about how ReCAST has progressed so far and where the program is headed.
