Welcome to Cities Connect, where we discuss issues that matter. In this episode, Monica Callahan, the Planning and Development Director at the City of Madison, discusses why today’s housing challenges demand a multifaceted, frank approach from local leaders. Market demands have shifted and it’s important for cities to be able to articulate housing goals, correctly gauge local housing tolerance and strategically adjust to accommodate growth.
As a 25-year local planner, Monica integrates comprehensive planning and community development. She advocates context-based planning policy and results-oriented governance. She also serves as Executive Director of the Municipal Development Authority – the downtown revitalization and urban redevelopment agency – and coordinates efforts for various public service boards and non-profit/corporate iterations.
We appreciate Monica joining us for this episode of Cities Connect, and we hope you enjoy her presentation.
