Cities Connect: US DOT Safe Streets and Roads for All and the Georgia Downtown Association

June 13, 2024

Welcome to Cities Connect, where we discuss issues that matter. In this episode, Robert Dell-Ross, Engineering Project Manager with the city of Milton, discusses how the city turned around their unsuccessful grant application to ultimately win $1 million in funding from the US DOT Safe Streets and Roads for All ("SS4A") program. With FY24 applications due August 29, 2024.

Following Rob’s presentation, we hear from the Georgia Downtown Association (GDA), which is celebrating 25 years of supporting Georgia's downtowns. GDA's president, Emily Hopkins, shares the economic impact of Georgia's downtowns and how GDA connects communities and equips downtown professionals to position our state's downtown districts as Georgia's most valuable economic engine. During this presentation, Thomasville's downtown revitalization efforts are highlighted as GDA prepares for its annual conference in Georgia's City of Roses.
