Microaggressions

August 17, 2021

Microaggressions are the everyday verbal and non-verbal exchanges, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative messages to target persons based solely upon their marginalized group membership (e.g., race/ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion). In this August 17, 2021, EMBRACE webinar, Johnny Knatt helped participants define and describe microaggressions, understand how microaggressions impact individuals and workplace environments, and reviewed response and intervention strategies.
