Before January 1, 2011, all cities and counties in Georgia are required to adopt outdoor watering restrictions in conformity with O.C.G.A. § 12-5-7(a.1).

 

This code section prohibits outdoor watering between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., except for certain exempted uses such as certain commercial uses, use of reclaimed water and irrigation of new plants.

GMA has published a model outdoor watering ordinance which cities may wish to use.
