The Human Resources Administration Certificate (HRAC) Program offers five classes designed to equip city officials and appointed staff with the tools needed to effectively recruit, train, and retain talent to serve their communities. The HRAC Program will be offered both in locations across the state for convenience and online.
Program Objectives
Upon completing the five classes, participants will:
- Understand relevant employment laws;
- Learn best practices for recruiting, onboarding, and developing talent to attract and retain the right people;
- Gain knowledge on employee compensation and benefits;
- Learn how to develop personnel policies; and
- Understand how to manage employee performance and workplace culture.
Target Audience
The HRAC Program is designed for city clerks, department heads, mayors, and councilmembers involved in human resources administration. The curriculum may be adjusted as needed, with additional courses added to reflect changes in laws and emerging trends.
Completion and Recognition
Upon completion of the required courses, participants will receive a Human Resources Administration Certificate from GMA, and a press release will be sent to the city for distribution to local media outlets.
