Stockbridge Partners with Community to Build New Monument Park

February 10, 2015

The city of Stockbridge partnered with the Eagle’s Landing Property Owner’s Association to build a new park.

When the Eagle’s Landing Road Widening Project began, plans also were set in motion to create a beautiful park at the corner of Eagle’s Landing Parkway and Rock Quarry Road in the city of Stockbridge.
The Georgia Department of Transportation sold the lot for the project to the city for $1 due to the inaccessibility of the property from either roadway. Stockbridge and the Eagle’s Landing Property Owner’s Association, whose members include both businesses and homeowners in the Eagle’s Landing Community, set to work collaboratively to make plans for the site as an enhancement to the surrounding community.
The association partnered with the city to secure the $316,000 needed to fund the project, which recently came to fruition with the recent ribbon cutting of Monument Park at Eagle’s Landing. Stockbridge Mayor Tim Thompson called the park a beacon to a great community.

“This park and the monument tower are a beautiful addition to our city and the Eagle’s Landing community,” he said. Stockbridge will continue to partner with the association to share the ongoing maintenance and upkeep and utilities for the park
