Risk Control Services & Trainings
LGRMS Risk Control typically provides/offers several regional training topics at several different locations across the state of Georgia throughout the year. Read our brochure and contact your consultant for more information.

Public Safety Decision Driving
LGRMS offers Public Safety Driver training that is both mobile and state of the art. A combination of classroom instruction and behind the wheel use of a DORON Precision 550 LE driving simulator will give your department up-to-date and realistic training. LGRMS has three simulators installed in trailers positioned around the state, so the program can be brought direct to you. GACP Risk Reduction Certificate Program
The Risk Reduction Certificate Program is a cooperative effort between the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) and the Georgia Interlocal Risk Management Agency (GIRMA) to help local law enforcement agencies mitigate potential liability. The certificate is good for two years. LGRMS will provide consultation services to governing authorities participating in GIRMA to receive a reduction in their law enforcement liability premiums upon the request of those such participating employers. Training Opportunities
LGRMS loss control offers training programs on a variety of topics, training locations, and targeted audiences. The purpose of our training programs is to give members of the ACCG and GMA Risk Management funds information that will help them improve their loss control efforts.

The training programs are broken into different types:
  • Regional Series: Half to full-day programs focusing on individual, management, or technical topics. The idea of the regional program is to move the teaching sites to numerous locations (6-9) around the state making it easier for employees to attend. Programs include a course manual or handout materials.
  • Focused Series: With just a few exceptions, these classes are normally 1-2 hours and taught onsite at the member location.
  • Online Training: Through LocalGovU and LGRMS Offers online training for worker safety, liability, and law enforcement.
  • Onsite Training: LGRMS provides program training and supplemental materials at individual member sites. 
ACCG is a nonprofit instrumentality of Georgia’s county governments. Formed in 1914 with 19 charter county members, today ACCG serves as the consensus building, training, and legislative organization for all 159 county governments in the state.

Georgia Municipal Association (GMA)
Created in 1933, the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) is the only state organization that represents municipal governments in Georgia. Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and technical consulting services to its members.

Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
With the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, Congress created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance.

Department of Labor
The Department of Labor fosters, promotes, and develops the welfare of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States; improves working conditions; advances opportunities for profitable employment; and assures work-related benefits and rights.

Public Agency Training Council (PATC)
PATC is the largest privately held law enforcement training company in the nation offering a curriculum of over one hundred topics of academy quality training programs throughout the United States by open registration, in service and co-hosted programs.

Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP)
Incorporated in 1962, the GACP has grown in membership, influence and professionalism to become one of the most respected law enforcement associations in the state. It is the largest professional association for law enforcement administrators in Georgia, and one of the largest in the country.

Georgia Sheriffs' Association
The mission of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association is to promote and further professionalize the Office of Sheriff in order to enhance public safety throughout Georgia. Since its beginning in 1954, the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association has engaged in a variety of activities and provided many services.

Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA)
For three decades, the Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) has been the one-stop resource for educational programming, risk resources and networking opportunities for public sector risk managers.

EPA Grant Information
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GAEPD) receives an annual grant under Section 319(h) of the Federal Clean Water Act to help prevent, control and/or abate nonpoint source pollution in support of Georgia’s Nonpoint Source Management Program. Use this link.
