House Bill 977 (as substituted by the Senate Ethics Committee) revises the dates for conducting special elections on sales taxes. The bill limits local option sales tax referendums to November elections in any year as well as the May general primary in even-number years and March presidential preference primary ever four years.  The bill also reduces the effective date from 80 days to 50 days following the referendum.
