Senate Bill 340 exempts firearm safes and firearm safety devices from sales and use tax. The bill defines firearm safe as excluding glass faced containers. The fiscal note for SB 340 estimates that local sales and use tax revenue would be reduced by $1.4 million per year with the exemption of firearm safes and firearm safety devices.
