The Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG) provides financial assistance to at-risk local communities and Indian Tribes to plan for and mitigate wildfire risks. The program focuses on reducing hazards in wildland urban interface (WUI) areas by supporting the development and revision of Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) and funding implementation projects outlined in CWPPs that are less than 10 years old.
