Thank you for attending the 2021 Newly Elected Officials Institute. Below are the recorded videos from the Institute. We hope these videos can be a continued resource to you in your career as a municipal elected official.
The Newly Elected Officials Institute provides a general overview of the function of municipal government in Georgia and the roles and responsibilities of mayors and councilmembers. The classes include an introduction to key issues such as ethics, municipal finance, planning and zoning, open meetings, open records and parliamentary procedures. All municipal elected officials taking office since July 1, 1990 are required by state law to complete the Newly Elected Officials Institute.
