The Griffin Student Advisory Commission (GSAC) started in January 2019.

Our members are 10th and 11th grade students in high school.

Currently, we are funded through the City’s general fund budget.
The GSAC will meet once a month on Monday evenings at City Hall. Each member will be responsible for attending one Board of Commission (BOC) meeting to present his or her project, which will be a seco

Selection Process

Each student was required to submit an application detailing his or her’s desire to be in the GSAC, issues he or she would like to see addressed by the City, extracurricular activities, etc. They were also required to submit their transcript and two references. They were interviewed by the Chief of Staff and chosen based on all of those things.

In the fashion stated above, they will act as an advisory committee. I also foresee the BOC selecting certain issues/items that they would like to hear from the GSAC about.
