Together, the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) hosted a gathering of law firms that regularly defend cities and counties across the state at the GMA headquarters in late July.
While making up just 9% of the state’s overall land area, Georgia’s cities collectively represent 44% of the state’s total population. Cities provide a range of public services – at a high level – and provide opportunities for people to live, work, play and enrich their lives.
GMA’s 2025 Cities United Summit featured approximately 1,000 attendees representing nearly 200 cities. There were training classes, awards, speeches and presentations from notable legislators and elected officials, a trip to the Capitol and more! Firefighters from across Georgia were celebrated for their dedication and service during the 53rd Annual Firefighter Recognition Day and 18th Annual Legislative Appreciation & Awards Dinner. This annual event brought together state leaders, first responders, and fire service organizations to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of Georgia’s firefighting community.
