Health & Financial Wellness

Health Wellness

The GMEBS Life & Health Insurance Fund is pleased to offer a Health Wellness Program to assist member organizations with conducting new (or improving existing workplace) health promotion and wellness initiatives. Members are also eligible to apply for grant funding. More than $2,400,000 has been given back to the membership in grant funds since the program began in 2006.

Eligibility

Program membership (and grant funding) is available to employers actively enrolled in one or more medical plans through the GMEBS Life and Health Insurance Fund.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete a membership application and return it to Life & Health Services. Please contact Candace Amos for more information on how to get started.

Applicants applying for funding will be evaluated based on the organization’s ability to meet the prescribed criteria and demonstrate in-kind support, as well as financial need. Grants will be awarded by employee population groups as follows:

  • Members with more than 400 employees
  • Members with 150 – 400 employees
  • Members with less than 150 employees

If approved, the application becomes the member’s agreement to meet all grant requirements and to carry out all planned health wellness programs and activities.

Funding Disbursement

All grant recipients will receive 50% of funding in September and the remaining 50% of funding in February, after the Mid-Year Report has been reviewed.

Financial Wellness

GMA is excited to announce its partnership with Truist Bank to offer a new financial wellness program called Momentum. The program is designed to educate, inspire, and equip employees to achieve financial confidence through a series of interactive classes.

Eligibility

Classes are available to all Georgia municipalities and are free of charge for member organizations of GMA’s Risk Management and Employee Benefits Programs (RMEBS).

How to Get Started

Members must schedule a planning consultation with Life & Health Services.  Please contact Candace Amos for more information.
