This bill would allow an income tax credit for individuals and corporations that make donations to a qualified law enforcement foundation. A law enforcement foundation is a domestic nonprofit corporation with the sole function of supporting one local law enforcement unit. 

Qualified contributions to a law enforcement foundations may only be spent by the foundation on direct compensation or training of law enforcement officers employed by the affiliated local law enforcement unit, the purchase, lease, maintenance, or improvement of equipment used by the officers, or costs incurred for the operation of an emergency response team that combines law enforcement officers and behavioral health specialists. Taxpayers making contributions to the law enforcement foundation may not designate or direct the contribution for a particular benefit or purpose.
